larry reid almost shut down the meeting because of the port of oakland executive director was drowned out by loud noises and shouting. the city hall has been ground zero for this movement. there is no word on when organizers will try to shut down the port of oakland again. but council members say it was time to strengthen the city administrator hand. the city council met to vote on an urgency resolution. it calls on the city administrator to use whatever lawful tools to prevent future shut downs or disruptions of port organizations. members of occupy movement to oppose that resolution. the movement shut down the port twice in the last six weeks. the city claims the december 12th shut down because of losses between $4 million and $8 million. >> we welcome all support to keep our port open. the reason why because it's vitally important to our city economy and region economy. >> the people knee to go down there and claim what is theirs. and so there is a real distribution of the ports resources to the people of oakland. particularly west oakland.
