larry wilmore. you have been in hollywood most of your career. pretty long time. you are one of the very few african-american voices that is consistently there, crying in a bit of a wilderness. given that you are in many cases big boys, how do you balance getting us to laugh at ourselves versus making as a laughingstock? >> that is a great question. since i have done satire i always felt quality is when we have a right to make fun of ourselves and it is okay just like everybody else. i have been in the position from the in living color days and the p js from having a crack head. how can you have a crack head? to me it seems andy griffith had a drug. taxi had the town burn out. why can't we have a crack head? i remember having to defend it against the naacp. we had a meeting. you always have to have a meeting when you do a black seminar. the fan the crack head character. he was funny. got to go. crack don't smoke itself. that was his job. he had to go. it is just satire. is not to be taken seriously. the irony about it. the show i was most proud of was the bernie m
