kate larsen joins us now. we originally heard the oil was shooting 30 feet in the air.s that still the case? >> yeah, peggy, scott, that's exactly right. around 12:15 this morning when that pipe burst we had a geyser of oil. we'll show you that in just a second. fortunately, they were able to shut off that pipe. i'll step out of the way because they have a major cleanup effort under way. i'm told by the fire department it will be at least 24 hours of cleanup. they have an oil slick all over the road. it's affecting five businesses, including a strip club. you can see it's the gentlemen's club right there. in fact, there is oil just covering the windows of that strip club and now we want to show you that incredible video of the oil geyser. 20 to 30 feet high in the air covering the roof of that strip club as well as nearby streets. another four businesses closed this morning while they try to deal with that mess. now, the deal with this pipeline is it's a section of above ground pipeline. the pipeline actually starts in bakersfield and carries crude all the way to texas.
