fluid, not only physically but also with newspapers we have newspapers in juarez and el paso and las cruces, the music, the traditions, the food, the holidays, all those things are very fluid. our book is based on a three year demographic study that two of my colleagues from the university of texas el paso Ãb and myself we spent three years in the school located right across from juarez.it's very close to the border. you can physically see the border from there. we worked for three years with students we called transfer students, the student to go back and forth to juarez and el paso. some travel daily. they live in juarez and come to school in el paso. some travel on the weekends and some stay go in the summers as well. we looked at, we started working with three teachers at the beginning but at the end on the third year we focused mostly on Ãband she was a dynamic teacher working with transfer students and we learned so much from her about strategies to use in the classroom. how she uses the transform to tourist and how she uses it in her curriculum and how she uses language in ways that
