marla tellez is live at las lomas high school where the boys were juniors. good morning to you, marla. >> reporter: good morning. instead of returning to school for another week rested and ready to go, it is safe to say they will be returning to campus with heavy hearts. but grief counselors will be on hand to greet them this morning to help them deal with the tragic loss of two of their classmates. as you mentioned, matthew miller and gavin powell. they were juniors at this high school. and they were best friend. and this morning autopsy results show they confirm the pair drowned to death after trying to navigate the powerful flow of a rushing creek on saturday. with all the rain we have been having, although they were warned by one of their parents not to do it, the two took an inflatable raft into a drainage canal in walnut creek. they were wearing helmets but they were not wearing life preservers. the force of the water was just too much to handle. and they were found about a mile apart from each other in concord on sunday. as fellow students head back t
