how is the latino population-latino voters in arizona -- how are they dealing with that? are there problems? is there going to be a battle over trying to tight 'the voter i.d. requirements? is it a photo i.d. requirement? >> really quickly. arizona's voter i.d. law was put -- voted on by the citizens of arizona back in 2004 with proposition 200. it was challenged in federal court. and it was shot down at the district level and it was going to be put on appeal but the marion county indiana case rendered that moot. the decision in which indiana has a tougher i.d. voter law than arizona so challenge to arizona's voter i.d. law were dropped. basically requirements you have to have a picture i.d. not a state driver's license, for instance, and the important thing is that your address you're registered to vote at has to match the address on the identification. so this hits populations that are more mobile than others, younger than others, and that's latino voters. >> is there a sense that this was targeted towards latino vote or a sense it will be used to try to tamp down on la

you can't just say hispanics or latinos in the united states. it's not one gigantic, monolithic group. it's made up of a variety of different people who come from different countries. mexican-americans are by a mile the large of that group. the largest of that group. and so there's one issue, the demographic issue based on country of origin. then you have to take a look at his positions on immigration, and that's so important to mexican-americans, to guatemalan-americans, to salvadore ran-americans, to cuban-americans. and marco rubio has talked about changing the tone on immigration for republicans, but he's also taken some positions in the past that could potentially be liabilities for him. he said that he would be in favor of the arizona law that's derided by some as the papers, please, law. and he's against the original dream act. and so those are positions that he will be pressed about as his national profile rises and that he'll have to reconcile if he wants to scoop up a whole lot of hispanic votes and bring them to the republican party.
