i mean, you have a state that right now is... many latinos feel is outwardly anti-latino-- arizona.you have a sentiment... you know, many analysts are looking at this and saying, "there is an anti-latino sentiment in our country." so in fact, less burden? don't you feel like there is a new generation of young latinos who are saying, "you know what? this is our country and we are... are angry that we're not heard politically"? >> i think that... that particularly the actions in arizona and the mood, generally, of the last 18 months, two years, you know, has sort of raised the specter of anti-latino sentiment in the united states, but i wouldn't say that it's to the same level as the generations before. you know, for instance, just at a basic level, you know, in the year 2010, it's possible to be a doctor, an engineer, a lawyer, and it was in theory possible two generations ago but that really didn't happen much. it's possible now to go and conduct commerce anywhere in the united states as a latino. you're not going to be held back from that. so i do believe that this younger generati

if you look at the latino population, 40% are in the latino population are foreign-born. >> what else>> the federal unemployment data came out yesterday showing 18 to 34 age group black, 17% unemployment, latino around 12, white around 7. do you think the backlash has much to do with current unemployment among young adults? the data doesn't allow us for our analysis to breakdown immigrants by their age group so i can't speak to that question directly, but i imagine there are other research that shed light on that. >> you touched on the similarities or dissimilarities between current immigration issue and immigration issue, in the 1800s, much more depth on that and quite frankly if one looks back at the history of irish, german italian immigration, you get into great movie made about it, gangs of new york about the riots, the civil war and there are interesting similarities between what is going on then and what is going on now at assimilation as early as smooth as you might have implied. did you look at that at all, similarities between immigration in the 1800s? >> it doesn't go back

and you're in charge of latino outreach. what's your perspective on that? >> i mean, i can tell you that the latino community is nobody's firewall, and we have heard that from a lot of our supporters. and the reality is that, yes, florida. they focus on texas. they never pay attention to what happened in colorado. colorado we won by almost 20 points, and that state cannot be won if you don't have latino support. we ended up going into every county. we saw that every county that had the majority of the latino community that went out to vote, went for bernie sanders. and just yesterday, there was a poll that was released that we were literally 47-46 against hillary clinton at the national level with latinos. and so what's happening is that the more that our community hears from bernie, the more that they hear his message, the more they're gonna actually like him. him before. him. and so it's getting him introduced to our community. and it's not about who they know the most. it's about who they're gonna end up liking the most at the end. >> if you look at the
