good morning, scott and laura. i hit the sack around 11:00 last night there was just drizzle here on highway 50 and south lake tahoe where you can see it's now got a lot of snow, some of the first plows coming out to clear the street. just some drizzle around midnight then the temperatures dropped enough that you had this. so in the past five hours from nothing to now what look likes about three, possibly four inches of snow. it's a good dumping. and there's a few more inches expected on the way as we have a winter storm warning in effect for this region until tomorrow. we're only at around 6200 feet elevation, at the upper elevations, 7,000 to 8,000 feet they expect as much as two feet of snow. obviously, these areas could be receiving more, it depends on what the weather is going to turn out. this is welcome news, not only for the snow bunnies and the people skiing up at heavenly up here to my left, but more importantly it's important in terms of what effect this has on the california drought and the water supply
