fox 5's laura evans with the latest now. >> 81-year-old ruth blake and two of her adult children, a sonaughter, all got sick and in a matter of days they were dead. tonight according to the maryland department of health, initial lab tests show blake's children who died, both of whom were in their 50s, tested positive for influenza a. their mother's body is still being tested. dressed in full biohazard environmental suits, health investigator goes through ruth blake's home in lusby, maryland, collecting samples trying to find a source for the illness that killed blake and two of her adult children. >> we got a large family and everybody is concerned about what's going on. i mean very tragic to the family. >> reporter: health officials say the illness started as the flu but appeared to quickly turn into a super infection. >> they came in. they were short of breath. they were coughing. they were coughing up blood and they went on to have sepsis which means that the infection went through their body. >> reporter: initial testing indicates the flu the three had may have been complicated by w
