this morning, mark goldman, who's marketing sponsorship manager of the marine corps marathon, and laura finney is a wear blue run to remember volunteer. thank you both. >> good morning. >> good morning. >> i know this is a very busy day for you. the big race happens at 7:55 right on the dot and you are >> 30,000 runners registered for the marathon back in march from 50 states, 59 countries, all arriving in the national capitol in arlington this week to accomplish their goal of running with the marines and running 26.2 miles in the nation's capital. >> tell us what is new this year? >> what is new is we get to use the course that was so popular among the runners in 2015. last year the marathon had to make a series of adjustments based on the impact that safe track and the metro was going to have on marathon morning when it didn't open early. this year the marine corps marathon is opening metro early. we have access to the roads at the timeline that we need, so we will be able to use a course that will give rineunners the b experience on event day. that's really an important change for the runne

. >> reporter: in clear lake, laura anthony, abc 7 news. >>> michael finney is also in lake county to answer questions for people affected by the fire. we'll check in with him in a few minutes to see how people are being helped out. >>> now to the bear fire which burned 320 acres in santa cruz county, a different part of the bay, obviously. it started on a property the site of a chop shop bust in 2015. that's according to the santa cruz sentinel which -- the fire is 40% contained. cool temperatures, little wind and that overnight rain stopped it from growing. people in the neighborhood have been allowed back in their homes now. but evacuation orders are still in place for those still living closest to where the fire is burning. cal fire says they hope to have containment in the next four days. >>> chariot is hopeful it will be back in service soon. it's an on demand computer van service. it had to suspend service because of compliance issues with the highway patrol. reporter jonathan bloom joins us at the chariot van lot where a lot of drivers were turned away today. jonathan? >> repo

laura. thank you so much. let's take a live look from clear lake. michael finney is there answering questions from fire victims right now. he'll have a live report in just a few minutes. >>> want to give you an update. the sulfur fire is 96% contained. the tubs fire which ravaged santa rosa is at 93% containment. the 87% contained in napa. fire crews are making good progress in a number of other areas. after ten days of working around the clock, pg and e have restored power to those who can access it. 350,000 customers lost electricity and more than 42,000 gas companies had service turned off as a safety precaution. this afternoon, residents of three hard hit santa rosa neighborhoods are returning home seeing what, if anything, is left behind and in many cases, sadly, there just isn't a whole lot. the neighborhoods include coffee park which you see here, as well as the people in the orchard and journey's end mobile home parks. they're also returning home. amy holly field has the story from santa rosa. >> it's hard to imagine finding anything left in the ruins of s
