i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> and i'm sam brock. >> we begin with an update to breaking news. >> the two men in paris are reportedly holding a hostage near the charles degault airport in paris. >> the two brothers have a h hostage and they told police they are willing to die as martyrs. they are in the down of dammartin-en-goele. the suspects were spotted by police about 9:30 in the morning driving around that industrial area. an encounter erupted into gun fire. one officer was wounded but not seriously. the mayor of a nearby town said it's a printing company, family business, husband, child and employees. somebody accidentally happened into that building while it was all happening and was told to leave and reported to p sseeing owner and other people there. the entire town is on lockdown. there are several airports shut down. the schools are also on lockdown and several students at a nearby high school have been in contact with nbc news. they say they've used their cell phone to call their parents and they're watching the same scen

i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> and i'm sam brock. warning at deanza clnlg this morni college this morning. police are looking for a man who attacked a female student on campus. kris sanchez is live in cupertino. what do police know about the incident at this hour? >> reporter: the campus is all quiet right now but social media was abuzz last night as students started to get that alert from their campus police about the fact that one of their fellow classmates had been groped and allegedly touched inappropria inappropriately. this is the notice that deanza college sent out to students, grabbed her, shoved her against the wall and attempted to touch her. she told police she was able to punch him and get away. the suspect fled to the north part of campus, the campus center. the victim told police the suspect said his name was alexander, she described him as latino or middle eastern, about 5'5" tall with short brown hair, bushy eyebrows and unshaven. noteworthy he had a cut to his lip and a strong body odor. while the notice says that ca

laura garcia-cannon is off today. >> and i'm sam brock. a nice story coming from fresno where several firefighters are being hailed heroes for running into a burning apartment to save the lives of three young kids. that dramatic rescue all captured on a helmet cam. >> where is she? how old is she, ma'am? we've got three kids inside. >> oh, my. it's one thing to hear it. it's another thing to see it. the rescue happened sunday. but the video just released overnight. you can see the firefighters going into the fire. the home was already filled with thick black smoke and they searched room by room, looking for the little kids, aged 1, 3, and 4 years old. all of them were unconscious. today the children are still in the hospital, but they are expected to be okay. >> this is the first rescue that i've made personally, and a lot of people in the department, we just don't do it very often. fortunately. >> the kids were home alone when that fire started. their mother arrived home shortly after crews got to the scene. she's being questioned by poli

i'm kris sanchez in for laura garcia-cannon. >> and i'm sam brock. as mike just mentioned a deadly crash is causing problems for your morning drive, on eastbound 580. let's get right to it, bring in mike inouye with a look at some of the alternatives. good morning. >> good morning, sam, good morning, kris. we are looking at a live view. alan, our photographer is there at the scene eastbound 580 at 164th, in the city of san leandro, just on the outside of castro valley and just off the castro valley y. all these firefighters from almeida county are addressing this vehicle. you can see the silhouette there. that vehicle crashed with all the debris, a deadly crash resulted a number of injuries reported. we're getting a lot more details on the crash itself but the effect on your commute look at the roadway maps we see the full closure there, this is approaching the castro valley y looking eastbound, tip counter commute, the only commute this morning. westbound your commute is moving smoothly. to get around this, use east 14th street, you're forced off of

i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> and i'm sam brock. developing at this hour, fire crews in san francisco finally have the upper hand on a massive foo irthat broke out in the city's mission district. the flames so intense some people broke through windows to escape. dozens are left wonders what they'll do now. >> "today in the bay's" stephanie chuang has been at the scene all morning long. things are finally starting to calm down? >> reporter: absolutely, things very calm compared to last night, at one point more than 100 firefighters and engines everywhere. now just one ladder truck here. the battalion chief says crews, keeping an eye out on hot spots to make sure nothing flares up. firefighters were able to save six people on the fire escapes, one man died in the fire and he was on the top floor. firefighters gave him cpr and took him to the hospital but he did not survive. people live on the top two floors here and businesses on the ground floor. rescue squad was able to bring another half dozen people safely but the inside of the bu

i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> aim essam brock.ntioned this a second ago happening now firefighters in new jersey are still trying to put out a massive fire that destroyed a luxury apartment complex. this broke out yesterday afternoon in the town of edgewater, still going on. flames and smoke could be seen from across the hudson in new york city. authorities say that everybody got out safely, amazingly. but the mayor of edgewater has declared a local emergency. schools in that area are also closed today. >> the san francisco police department is investigating an officer's conduct after a disturbing video was posted online. this is one of two videos that shows what appears to be an officer trying to dump a disabled man out of his wheelchair. the video has been posted to several websites. the incident reportedly happened on sunday afternoon in the ingleside neighborhood of san francisco. police say officers went to stop an argument between several men. the man in the wheelchair was involved. in the end, police cited four people. it's
