i'm laura garcia cannon. >> and i'm sam brock. and the day starts on a cold note. i can already see 40s in your forecast this morning. >> good morning. it's very cold out there as you head out the door. mostly cloer skies and our temperatures will get milder this afternoon but we'll also have some rain by the evening commute. as we start out, right at 40 degrees in the south bay. we may have frosty conditions, especially in the wind sheltered valleys. through the day, highs reaching 58 degrees, the south bay up to 56 degrees and you'll see showers moving through. we'll talk more about that. but let's head to the tri-valley now with mike. >> so far the view from this camera looks great. this is doubly westbound 580. we'll look at the map. westbound is all green. it's also green eastbound coming off of san ramon road. but there is a crash reported there, possibly on the right shoulder. we'll get more details in the next couple of minutes. no problems around the bay. there's your approach in toward san francisco and we'll track the crowd as more folks come to the city

good morning and thanks for joining us, i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> i'm sam brock. those flames broke out early this morning on east 10th street in oakland. that scene remaining very active right now. >> bob redell just arrived. what can you tell us, bob. it looks huge. >> laura and sam, within the past 30 minutes the oakland fire department was able to extinguish that fire and the temple which is basically a home here that was converted into a temple. if you look to the right, you can see one of the other homes extended to. it severely damaged that home and then what you can't see is the home in the back that also offered serious damage. a fire call came in around 1:50 and it it was a second alarm and when they arrived on the scene and saw how serious it was and how much it it was extending to the two other homes they decided to call for a third alarm. the fire destroyed a temple and severely damaged two homes and also destroyed five cars and three sheds. now, there were 11 people in the temple at the time and, according to one of the monks who's a member of the te

i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> i'm sam brock. here in the bay area, calm is the word. >> that's right. let's check the forecast now with kari. >> good morning. will have some warm temperatures again today. in fact, the warmest day of the week and some of us reach into the upper 70s. we start out right at about 50 degrees everywhere except the north bay at 44 degrees. and looking at a high of 76 degrees in the east bay. tri-valley 77, as well as 77 in the north bay. i'll detail these warm temperatures and a look ahead to some rain in time for the weekend. that's coming up in a few minutes, but let's check in now with mike to see how it looks as you go across the bay bridge. >> kari, the backup at the toll plaza is already here. the metering lights at 5:30 or maybe 5:29. no major problems. there's the backup. we look at your map and the approach coming out of the maze off the east shore freeway a build. the east shore freeway is slowing basically the race track golden gate field and down towards the berkeley curve. a typical trend and a lighter east bay travel flow nicely for highway 4.

i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> i'm sam brock. we are drying off, future tense, not quite there yet. meteorologist kari hall. >> she has a look at our forecast for you. that radar still shows a lot of green. >> it does, sam and laura. dealing with scattered showers and some wet roads and much cooler temperatures than yesterday at this time. as we take a look at the radar now, we are seeing some of the rain very hit and miss all across the bay area anywhere from the north bay to the south bay, you do see some rain, even a couple of lightning strikes have showed up within the past hour or so and now as we check the rain moving into richmond, it will be approaching oakland, as well as another cell moving into san francisco in the next few minutes. i'll have a look at the microclimate forecast and what else to expect coming up and what's happening on the roadways. mike? >> that is when the commute just gets started up there. we'll track that. meanwhile, the road weather index taking the weather information from our shared computers and shows you wet conditions all around the bay and pond
