thanks for joining us, i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> and i'm marcus washington. we want straight to mike inouye for the latest on that breaking news. >> we're looking at west 580, all lanes, all lanes of westbound 580 are blocked at edie canyon road or just shy of that exit there. you see the big rig, what happened was two big rigs from what i understand they sandwiched a smaller vehicle in between them. the person in that vehicle died as a result of this crash and the drivers from the big rigs were taken from the scene from injuries. there are a couple other ambulances still there, they may be addressing others involved here. there is no fire but there is a fluid leak of some sort. you see these fuel tanks, those are the ones concerning us. already they're complicating this issue, it's complicated because they are also talking about a hazmat situation no matter what that fluid leak s we are looking at all lanes blocked here. there is not a really good work around for folks. west 580 comes off of the dublin grade and goes over towards the castro valley y, that is

bob, good morning. >> reporter: yeah, good morning to markus, laura garcia-cannon.ployed 80 members of the task force this san urban search and rescue that's based here in the east bay. some members of this unit just returned from hurricane harvey in texas and are being sent right back out in the field. right now you see these first responders, they packed their red go bag into the shuttle bus, they're going to be taking this van over to local land international for a couple of flights out of town this morning taking them to atlanta. these are bags that contain all of their personal items they'll need for what's expect tiebd two-week deployment. had they arrive in atlanta, they'll travel to a military base on the florida/georgia border where they'll await further instruction. their equipment that is traveling there right now will include four rescue boats, tools for breaching into and shoring up collapsed structures, audio and visual devices for finding trapped survivors and four k-9 teams. while most members plong to the east bay fire department, it does include tw

thank you for joining us, i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> i'm marcus washington.begin with breaking news in the east bay where a car crashed involving an oakland suv. sharon katsuda is live on the scene. sharon, i know you just received new information from police. >> reporter: that's right. we just talked to the lieutenant, the watch commander and she updated us saying this followed a shooting incident in oakland. take a look. there are still officers investigating here, looking through the scene. you can see the police unit that was involved. let's look at video from the crash earlier. this happened after 4:00 a.m. we are hearing four vehicles were involved, including a police unit. two police officers were taken to the hospital. the lieutenant told us, she does not have the conditions of those o officers. this happened on international boulevard at high street here between 42nd and 44th avenue. we are getting more information on this, but, again, here at the scene, one of the officers of the unit crashed into a suspect who was involved in a shooting earlier. th

i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> i'm marcus washington. today is going to be a beautiful day.tter look, let's head over meteorologist kari hall. >> a cool start for the north bay. in the drop-off-line for school in santa rosa it will be in the low 50s. it will be a beautiful afternoon as the kids head home from school, excited to see all the sunshine and also feeling some nice weather. it will be up to 80 in napa, 77 in shoe and san francisco expect a high of 66 degrees. we'll talk about the weekend in about seven minutes. mike is tracking both sides of the san mateo bridge. >> not all of us, but a lot of us drive across the bridge. a smooth drive for most of the routes. lighter for a friday. i heard about a crash right by the smidgeon the hayward side. turns out it's coming out of the city streets of hayward. may be affected by a crash on the connector. the connector still open. you see slowing in the area because of the volume of traffic. over hoor on the peninsula side, south 280 around black mountain road reports of one vehicle in the roadway, sounds like a larger vehicle.

i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> and i'm marcus washington. a lot of people are thinking and talking about what's going on in florida and the caribbean. certainly here it is a different story. >> a very nice day but we're calling our friends and family that live elsewhere in the caribbean and florida and also in parts of the southeast that are bracing for hurricane irma but we are looking at some morning clouds and fog as you get ready to head out. we are heading up to 77 degrees. gilroy some lower 80s there. lower 80s in the east bay. palo alto up to 75 and san francisco a high of 67 today. i'll have a complete update on hurricane irma coming up as we head to mike now. >> not a major concern for the rest of the world. i know you said you'll bring more updates on irma. here to the rest of the bay, a smooth drive. the nimitz freeway, we have one issue in oakland. one lane is still blocked. folks are slowing down as well as getting into downtown. toward the bay bridge other than that is not a major problem. traffic flows well. head through town.

good morning to you, thanks for joining us, i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> and i'm marcus washington. a look at what's going on with the forecast. let's heard over to vianey. >>> 59 degrees, 62 degrees in the south bay and in the tri-valley waking up to 57 degrees, in san jose already at 60 degrees. if you notice the majority of these areas are still clear of any clouds and it's going to stay this way at least through tonight and into tomorrow. now, as we head into tomorrow that's when we are expect to go see the biggest change in those temperatures. for today, though, expect a climb into those 80s and 90s for inland areas but a much more pleasant coastline with temperatures in the upper 60s and 70s. >> you, marcus laura and i will all check that commute gether. looking over here we know the bay bridge toll plaza started, 5:22 just after the last report they turned the metering rights on. at the maps we will see the travel times, no major problems getting to the bay bridge backup, we just have the backup at the toll plaza as you would expect and no problem for the rest of the bay. a s
