i want to bring in governor laura kelly here because we were in kansas just down the road and talkingof a cvs, which there's a pharmacist, chrissy, who we met up with this morning. she was loading up the first shipment of vaccines into her pickup truck to deliver them to a long-term care facility. in 36 states and washington, d.c. as well as here in kansas that process began today, in which cvs and walgreen's pharmacists and technicians are beginning that delivery process and beginning to administer those first doses to those long-term care residents. and that is why we wanted to make our way down over here to topeka, to the state capitol, and meet with the governor laura kelly here because your state has endured hardship here. >> like every other state. >> reporter: over these last nine months. what does this day mean? and to folks that are watching across the country but here in kansas and they have whether they be parents or grandparents in these facilities, what do they need to know about this process? >> well, i think as everybody knows the outbreak of the virus really occurred f

laura. the campaigns of republican senators david perdue and kelly loeffler had sought to have the ballots ofated to insure those votes were lawful. the senators' campaigns had argued in federal court that it would be against federal law for local elections offices to count what they call double votes meaning ballots that are cast in the senate runoff elections by people who lived and voted in another state during the november general election. in lynn county only 8 out of 176 newly-registered voters there had voted in another state during the general election. the senators' campaigns unsuccessfully argued that number could rise astronomically around the state specifically with thousands of new and overwhelmingly young registered voters who are likely to lean towards democrats jon ossoff and avenue ideal warnock. in a statement released friday, the georgia democratic party said, quote, this is a baseless, despicable attempt to wrongfully disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of georgia voters including members of our military serving a abroad. meanwhile, georgia republican governor and republi

. >> reporter: boris and laura, there was a lot of anticipation for this debate on sunday night in part because it was the first time that kellypeared in a forum when it was just the two of them head to head as they emerged in this runoff election. and it played out much of the way we expected it to. raphael warnock attacking loeffler for the convenient stock trades she made shortly after becoming a united states senator at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, and loeffler hammering warnock calling him a radical liberal over and over again. perhaps the most revealing thing from this debate was kelly loeffler's difficult position. that position is attempting to somewhat embrace president trump's attempts to overturn the results of the election while at the same time not leaning completely into the situation. take a look at how she handled this particular issue on sunday. >> senator, did you believe the election was rigged? >> look, greg, it's very clear that there were issues in this election. there are 250 investigations open, including an investigation into one of my opponent's organizations. you know, for voter fraud.
