laura podesta has the latest from new york. good morning. >> the u.s.exican border is back open this morning if the was closed yesterday afternoon when those hundreds of migrants attempted to get through a fence during a protest. border patrol agents shot teargas at several hundred migrants who tried to cross into the u.s. yesterday. those migrants pushed past mex cal police, climbed fences and went through river banks to get to the border. this video appears to show them running from the gas. customs and border patrol said several of its agents were hit by projectiles thrown by the migrants. a peaceful march was under way in tijuana before the chaos erupted. this group was protesting the slow pace that u.s. asylum claims processed. >> this would be a very good time to do a shutdown. >> president trump has said he's willing to shutdown the government over funding for a border wall. >> i do not want to see the government shut yun. >> joni ernst says congress needs to acknowledge the president's did he. >> and we have a lot of departments that do a lot of
