numbers at all because i issue kind of a curious statement lauren. has tend to want to match the last numbers over time really really is that supposed to make us feel good. so why don't they just reported to numbers of what they're saying because these are actual job numbers or the largest federal process the united states well our you know how about just reporting the number and then if they want a little span as to you know what they think it might really mean for the b.l.s. rather than trying to match be a last number was over time well when they're wildly off in one direction and then another well i don't really inspired and it would seem that the whole point of having a g.p. is having a private gauge of versus the public numbers that we get from the b.l.s. each month let's talk more about what came out the b.l.s. report there because headline numbers might look pretty good but obviously there's so much to pick out of this report that doesn't make it into the headline numbers that people pay so much attention to so one thing that i was looking at

well lauren on the day or net period of months during the crisis nobody had liquidity even government agency paper was very difficult to sell and you couldn't use it as collateral so this whole notion that there would have been liquidity available i think is specious the more important thing is remember the basel framework basel two essentially enabled the crisis because it said to people if you create a bond and you get a aaa rating from moody's no matter how crappy it is inside then it has a lower capital weighting that alone so what we said to wall street is sell bonds and they did and they gauge and all kinds of fraudulent activities that have largely gone and punished so where was it in this whole series of events that we needed more capital what we needed was a much tighter regime on the creation and sale of securities but nobody wants to talk about that if you look at loan loss rates in the banking industry say from zero seven forward they were very high but we had plenty of capital to absorb them u.s. banks have twice sometimes three times as much capital as their european cou

i don't have anything i can share on the investigation of lauren just because you know we're not we're not finished with the number hit by law from divulging some other things but everything that you said is accurate to me based upon the information that i got it received from the public certainly there were to farias actions and i believe violations of the law mean when people send you e-mails and say the price of silver is going to be smashed one day and then the next day it actually happens and when that happens repeatedly or maybe six you know eight or nine times better leads you to question what's going on which is why i called for this a bit investigation as you say it's been four years but those f t f t story was premature i had hoped that we would be done by the four year anniversary which would have been september twenty third it's not imminent but i still think it's going to be done rather soon since i've been a little bit off the mark on my timing i don't want to give a date certain a fellow the other day said to me will just say manion and i said well when you want to means

the price in the price is going to go higher and we're mighty price is going to go higher anyway lauren simply because of the dollar debasement and the other. factors that are going on. around the world and remind us what your projections of colleges for anybody that i can remember off the top of their head. well i've been sticking to this. forecast that i made back in two thousand and three when gold was three hundred fifty dollars an ounce i was saying that between twenty thirteen and twenty fifteen it was going to be a thousand dollars an ounce and the dow would be eight thousand so you'd have a one to one relationship between gold and the dow just like you did at the end of last bust which was one nine hundred eighty when gold was one to one eight hundred and gold and eight hundred and and just like you did back in one thousand thirty set the end of that past when you had gold at thirty five in the dow thirty five so you know this one to one relationship continues to reappear and i think that's ultimately where we're headed but you know if the fed continues on this monetary monetary

definition use more than thirty four hours a week while the care definition lauren is thirty hours away ha so and that's on average sourcing company saying my god i don't know i don't want these employees working an average of thirty hours they cut it down to twenty five just to be safe right so that's what's going on that's you know all part of this trend towards part time employment towards lower wages salaries been stagnant yeah for quite a long time you're lauren absolutely and i want to get into that in a moment but first one thing that you were telling me earlier and that i thought was very interesting is that the types of jobs that have been created we're talking about part time jobs this kind of feeds into that because obviously in the b.l.s. reports we get every month based. what sectors added jobs last month i think it was retail and travel and leisure and some of the areas that we've seen they send month after month but there's another way to look at these jobs that have been added and it's covered employment meeting the number of jobs that are covered. by unemployment insura

now lauren we hear so much in washington about bailing out banks and about debt forgiveness and what to do about it what do you think about this as a solution to this i love what i love about this is so often we hear about problems like get problems like student loans and overindebtedness in terms of what is the government going to do to solve this why is the government bailing out banks when not people well there are a number of reasons to explain why that's happening having to do it just the way things are structured corporate interest all those sorts of things so what i love about this is it's not asking what can the government do to help it is a private sector solution alexis goldstein's a former wall street employees she knows how the big banks work she's probably going less play with in their own game you know don't distress debt is offered at pennies on the dollar let's buy it in abolish it debt forgiveness is one of these issues that constantly comes up ok over indebtedness is terrible for the economy when the private sector is so indebted they're de leveraging they're not sp
