reporter lauren coronado from our sister station in los angeles is there on colorado boulevard. ning, lauren. >> reporter: good morning, and happy new year. we're right along the parade route right now ahead of the 135th rose parade, and we know it's going to start at 8:00. you might be able to see way in the distance some of the floats that will make their way down the road in about the next few hours or so. and we have some dedicated campers that are with us, the burke family from glendora. thank you for being with us. how early did you get here? >> we probably got here sometimes between 4:00 and 4:30. >> reporter: it's chilly. you came prepared. you have the beanies and scarves. >> you've always got to have the hats and mittens and scarves. it's cold out here. >> reporter: how long have you been doing this and what brings you back? >> we've probably been doing this for about five or six years and we found we enjoyed coming to the beginning part of the parade route and getting here early in the morning so we're ready and didn't have to spend the whole night on the street. >> re

reporting in pasadena, lauren coronado. >> i wonder where you can watch it. , right here on nbc bay area. as lauren mentioned, at 8:00 this morning. >> how convenient. >> isn't that great? >>> let's check in with our own weather and kari. >> we've been saying, okay, it's cold there, but that's in our standards, right? so we're all bundled up. it's 40s this morning to start out here as well as southern california. we're also seeing the low clouds that have been drifting by and in some spots low visibility as well. we've seen that in parts of the tri-valley, where visibility drops down to a quarter mile or less. we've also had some dense fog in parts of the north bay. so just a heads up that if you are in those areas, you do need to slow it down. we're going to be in between weather systems today, so it's nice and dry. we're headed for a beautiful sunny afternoon, but things change starting tomorrow once that storm system off the coast starts to move in, and it starts out with light rain early tomorrow morning. then a break by late morning. then the heavier acti
