joining me now is hillary transu and her mother laurene and robert may, the academy award-winning producerk you all for being here tonight. >> thank you. >> thank you. >> robert, what made you do this documentary? >> you know, i actually live in luzerne county, pennsylvania, where it happened. and all the other projects i worked on, worked on from my offices in new york here. but we were developing another story about kids and greed and power when the scandal broke in january 2009. and this was one of those stories, the truth was stranger than fiction. and i was aware of these judges who were celebrated by the community for many years, didn't know them personally. and i was really curious about how they could wake up one day and perhaps do something so evil. >> but i mean, it's an unbelievable story when it came out. i think one of the most gripping moments in the documentary comes during the judge's trial. a mother whose son committed suicide went after him outside the court. watch. >> this is not a cash for kids case, and we hope somebody starts getting the message. >> my kid is not here
