tony autry, lavina holmes director of human resources and tiffany tatum who became a senior community development specialist on the port's contracts team. this afternoon, staff will present an outline of a plan that is a set of strong and wide-ranging ideas for internal and external equity action. this plan is going to grow and evolve over time. the plan represents staff best thinking. we know that we are going to it's rate on these ideas. fully implementing those that work, changing or discarding those that don't. the plan includes metrics to help staff identify what works and what doesn't. this is a pivotal moment in the port's equity efforts. the racial equity action plan provides the port with the new set of tools at what seems to be and historic inflection point in the national and local conversations about race. staff really believes that this document will inspire action and guide us further down the path to an equitable presence in the city. as staff works the plan, we will return to the commission for feedback and to be transparent about our work. the commission has long been
