back to you. >> thank you, lawrence. developing now over in vallejo the search is on for the person who shot and killed a man at a gas station in the east bay. kpix 5's cate caugiran reports. >> reporter: vallejo police believe that the car that one of the victims was in was targeted. it's cleared now but here's the scene earlier. several evidence markers indicate that this will be an extensive investigation. the shooting happened around 9:00 last night at this "five star" station on lincoln road west. investigators say a suspect fired several shots at a car in the parking lot. inside, a 24-year-old man, he later died after being taken to a nearby hospital. >> it's very early in the investigation. we don't know what the motives are or the cause of this shooting is. we have two shooting victims t. >> reporter: there was a second person nearby who was also hit by a bullet but police say that person is expected to survive. it is unknown at this time if the victims knew each other or what the relationship was to the shooter.

lawrence, did you hear that? >> yeah. i bake those. >> his wife does. wife brings them in. >> i can bake cookies. >>> we have some serious news to talk about. unfortunately, we have a traffic alert in petaluma and information is changing quickly. this is the latest tweet from "kcbs traffic." right now, it sounds like both lanes are blocked southbound 101. it's approaching petaluma boulevard south and chp is telling us that traffic is at a standstill from east washington but our sensors are picking up slowing behind that. so a heads up in petaluma. this is being called a pretty serious injury crash. so again we'll continue to keep you updated there. but that is one of the our worst hot spots right now. better news for hayward though. right around the time of that accident, this one popped up on our chp reports. it's already gone. so i guess they cleared this one to the right-hand shoulder. southbound 880 approaching "a" street. it was an accident involving a motorcycle and injuries were reported there but again we are just seeing some tapping of the brak

. >> all right, lawrence. thanks. >> thank you, lawrence. >>> well, roberta gonzalez is keeping an eye on the fire danger. mount dee diablo in the weather lab. >> this is the remains of the fire, the morgan territory fire that burned this last september. currently here at top mount, it is 64 degrees. it is a blustery afternoon, the winds blowing out of the west at 15 and sustained gusts easily over 25 miles per hour and then went up in smoke. take you back to september of 2013 when the morgan territory was burning out of control and racing all the way up to the observatory atop mount diablo. 848 feet tall, so this fire had running distance. by the time it was all said and done, 4,000 acres were charred but fast forward from september to today. nothing has really changed. we are in a drought situation, so it is extremely dry out here. you can see that it is golden yellow as far as the hills are concerned and typically the time of year we should still be green. you, as a home own, should experience the same kind
