for more on the forecast, lawrence?> we have delays now at sfo of 40 minutes on arriving flights because of fog. the clouds not as far inland today so it's going to burn off earlier so yeah, it's being squashed up above by a strong ridge of high pressure. it's compressing that marine air down toward the surface. yesterday we had temperatures in the 60s and the 70s. today, as much as 8 degrees warmer in places like santa rosa and 82. 81 in san jose. 73 in oakland. and 66 degrees in san francisco. so the warming trend begins today. we'll see some hot numbers especially in the valleys in the next few days. so sunshine and some warmer weather today. still a couple of patches of fog out along the coastline. but not as thick as it's been. then we'll crank it up friday and over the weekend. high pressure settling into the bay area. there will be minor fluctuations, a couple of weak systems rolling over the top of the ridge and just minor changes through the week as we are going to see warmer weather into the weekend. triple di

back to you. >>> lawrence, thank you. new this morning, a call to curb state air pollution regulations. kpix 5's anne makovec is in san francisco reporting a gas price spike is behind the new effort. anne. >> reporter: yeah. it is all because of california's cap and trade law. right now, a gallon of regular unleaded here at the shell station in san francisco is $4.29. 71 cents of that goes to state and federal taxes. cap and trade isn't exactly a tax on a gallon of gas. but prices could be raised by 12 more cents on january 1st. cap and trade allows the state to charge companies who pollute the air and next year, suppliers who deliver fuel to gas stations will be charged and they are expected to pass the costs on to drivers. the california air resources board which is helping implement the law says, don't blame us. >> we do not set gas prices. we do not tell the oil companies how to set gas prices. if i knew how they set gas prices, i would probably be a millionaire now because then i would be able to explain why the gas
