thank you, rachel. >> thank you, lawrence. >> thank you. well, part two of the biden infrastructure plan is poised for a vote in the house tonight if kevin mccarthy ever stops talking. things moved very quickly today after the congressional budget office came out with its official analysis of the biden social infrastructure bill, and according to the nonpartisan cbo's official estimate, the social policy and climate policy bill would increase the federal deficit by $367 billion over the next ten years, but that is a technical finding that the cbo admits is not reality. the cbo noted that the enhanced irs tax enforcement provisions in the bill would bring in at least an estimated $270 billion of new revenue. but for technical reasons, that piece of the estimate was not included in the official estimate. and if you do include those $207 billion in the revenue included in the overall score, then the bill only adds $160 billion to the deficit over ten years but there's more. there is a competing estimate by the treasury department that says inc

lawrence: we are flying blind.ow we are kind of lurching from complacency, because we thought we had this under control in europe and the united states, so we were seeing the end of the tunnel, but now we have lurched from complacency to panic. neither of those extremes are a good way to go. there isn't going to be a magic day when we say we really understand this, but i think within two or three weeks we are going to start to understand the characteristics of this variant. what we expect is that it will probably be quite transmissible, and if it is -- the delta is extraordinarily infectious, nearly as infectious as chickenpox. if this new variant is more infectious than that, then we have a lot of reason to worry because a lot more people are going to get infected. but we don't have any evidence it is going to cause more serious disease, more hospitalizations, and although probably coming from our experience with delta, the vaccine effectiveness is going to be a little bit less then it would otherwise be, vaccines

bye, lawrence. >> thank you, rachel. >>> so on with it. today the house select committee investigating the january 6 attack on the capitol issued five new subpoenas to organizations and individuals reportedly involved with planning the attacks. subpoenas were issued to the proud boys international llc and its chairman, henry enrique tarrio. at least 40 individuals affiliated with the proud boys have been indicted by the department of justice in relation to the january 6 attack on the capitol according to the committee's letter to the proud boys who have nothing to be proud of, quote, indictments returned by the federal grand jury in washington, d.c. indicate that proud boys engaged in extensive calls for violence leading up to january 6, 2021. certain indictments returned against proud boys members describe prior planning and coordination, including efforts to fund raise for protective gear and communications. furthermore, video evidence plainly demonstrates that proud boys members are involved in the january 6 attack. subpoenas were issue
