thank you, lawrence. our continuing coverage tonight on the deadly wildfires burning in hawaii. >> earlier in this newscast, we saw how the fires had delayed and canceled flights for many bay area travelers. thousands of people are stranded at the airport in maui where one of those wild fires is burning tonight. here's a look at the main airport. there were thousands of travelers are sheltering sheltering due to canceled flights are having just landed there. now that are in borrego. one traveler from boston says on the way back from a trip to the beach, she could see the fires in the distance. >> just the fact that it was spreading so fast and we didn't really know what was going to happen. just it's just scary to see a big wildfire just kind coming your way. and it's something i ever experienced before. >> at last check, 2000 travelers are taking shelter at the airport. we will be continuing our coverage on these wildfires on air and online as we learn more information. in fact, we'll continue to monitor

lawrence, we know what that means around here. this is our fire season, right? so here we go. we're starting to see some of these out frontal systems move by kind of this weak trough. you see just to the north that is going to swing by. and as the system swing through. >> high pressure often builds in behind. and that's where we start to talk about some of the northerly wind. you can see the arrows pointing south as that northerly wind kicks in behind that system and that is what's going to cause some windy conditions here in the bay area. bring some smoke from the fires in northern california. also elevate our fire danger here as we head toward the next 24 hours. the fact flag warnings our up going up tonight at 11 o'clock in the north bay. you can see in the napa valley just above that in the mountains there and also northern slama county expecting winds 15 to 30 miles an hour, maybe gusting as high as 40 miles per hour across some of the peaks and the humidity going way down between 13 and 20%, making a very dry should fires get started, those kind of conditions could be ve
