santa clara county deputies chased the car and the driver led them onto the lawrence expressway, it endedn santa clara, the scene there with all the police cars and flashing lights early this morning. we learned that officers found a gun inside of the car. deputies started pursuing the driver after they say they saw him speeding. >>> crews quickly reopened the flyover connecting northbound 280 to southbound highway 17 after an early morning collision involving a car that crashed already and was abandoned. the chp says whoever was in the red car left before emergency crews arrived. a van came on the scene at 3:00 in the morning and crashed into that vehicle. the people in the van were treated on site and crews had it cleared within an hour. >>> traffic is moving in contra costa county after this tree fell blocking the lanes of highway 24. the tree was blocking two eastbound lanes. it also crashed through a power line which fortunately was not energized at the time. no one was injured. >>> a bit of a hedge right now. we have seen all the sunshine come through. it is not that warm. i think y

and the scuffle we know happened right here in this parking lot at lawrence expressway. police tell us that around 1:00 this morning, they spotted a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a 24 hour fitness. it appears that the man inside was living in his vehicle. they approached him and determined that he was wanted for several misdemeanor warrants. when officers tried to get the man into custody, he started driving off and dragged one of the officers who was still holding on to the car. the officer let go and fortunately he was not injured. the suspect though got away and police are looking for him. crime scene technicians, they have been collecting evidence at the scene for their investigation all morning. we're told that during this incident no shots were fired and police did not deploy their tasers. right now they're just focused on arresting that suspect. and when he is, he will be arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. back to you. >> thank you, janine de la vega. >>> all eyes this morning are on wall street again after the record breaking opening and close

we're here along lawrence expressway. that has been cleared already.nd when we were in the santa cruz mountains about 30 minutes ago, you know, there was a report of an accident on 17 at summit road. you know, roads there are very wet. and a car hit the guardrail there. it's in the santa cruz mountains where there has been the brunt of the problems. just before 5:00 this morning, a tree fell down off of northbound highway 17 at idlewild road. residents were stuck and couldn't drive out because it was completely blocking the road. caltrans came in and cleared the brush away. overnight we were told by chp off of bear creek road off of 17, a car got stuck in several feet of water where the road flooded. >> two feet of water. you can think of it would be about -- there is a caltrans worker, half of his body was in the water while they were trying to open up the drain. >> was the person okay. >> the person was fine. so she made it pretty much all the way through except for the car -- you know, the water got stucked in. so the car stalled out. lled out. >> r
