i'm joined now by lawrence newport.demic and has been campaigning on banning the xl bully dog breed for the last four months. thank you forjoining us. you've been tracking the rise in fatal attacks by xl bullys — how dangerous are they? the shocking statistics speak for themselves. the american xl bully is responsible for for over 70% of all deaths since 2021. it only arrived in the country in 2018. it is behind 50% of attacks on humans and dogs. there was one dog a day killed by a american xl bully. they are a uniquely dangerous dog. there are around 270 times more deadly than the rest of the dog population. really interesting. do you really think we can blame the breed itself? yes. unfortunately, these dogs were bred from fighting stock in the late 80s and 90s and the claim was they were crossbred with other large breeds. we have not than that. if you trace the pedigrees they are slightly inbred fighting dogs that were bred with inbred for larger incisors and strength. this is what you would expect to see if you take
