last night on "the last word" with lawrence o'donnell, republican strategist david frum explains what he meant when he tweeted that the media, specifically fox news, could end up costing the election. >> the economy remains very sluggish. we're getting close to that decision moment. the numbers continue heartbreaking. and the american people, they have a decision mechanism. did the incumbent deliver? the incumbent who doesn't deliver may have a lot of excuses. he may have tried his best but he doesn't. then they turn to the alternative. if the alternative does not discredit themselves, the one issue that may save president obama from a pad economy is the ability to run on the medicare issue. if republicans are driven by media voices into a stampede of unanimity where everybody has to say, yes, we're signing up for this ryan plan, that is going to be our ballot issue for 2012. there is no need to cooperate with that narrative but that does cooperate with the core obama narrative. the republican message should be a vote for republicans for economic recovery for jobs, less regulation and

the scandal is that it may have all originated right here on hannity according to m s n b c s lawrence o'donnell there's a perfectly good reason congressman weiner is keeping things they are the longer you look at the picture especially the pixellated version the more you begin to understand why congressman weiner might not want to deny the fact there's a picture of him in fact the longer i look at it the more i don't want to deny that it might be a picture of me jealousy aside this is a hard hitting investigation no one is giving up on because you haven't answered a question about whether the photo is you or not you realize that now everybody thinks the photo is you and so where there's smoke there's fire there must be a real scandal here you must've been doing something creepy here well let me ask you whether or not you want to answer that question and then let me ask what the answer to it is when you're named wiener it kind of goes with the territory. it goes with the territory and you know we hear it r t we're curious about this how americans really feel because this story deserves the hype
