leanne melendez joining us live with more. >> many parents find out this afternoon that their child's school was on that list of possible closures. that was a surprise to many and so was how quickly this process is going. there will be a final vote on february 8. >> mike hutchinson wants everyone to know that he is the one who released the list of schools that may end up closing. the oakland school board member first posted it on social media. >> i did not leak anything. this was not privileged or confidential. i did my job by reporting to my constituents and the community information i had received about their schools being under threat for closure. >> oakland superintendent set out a note stating that the information shared was from a draft. it is not the final set of recommendations. this is a map with the proposed closures for this year. among them, this elementary school. today the staff began determining flyers to parents interested in having a meeting on this possible closure. henderson, a grandmother, has had a deep connection with the school. >> are losing not only of educati

leanne caldwell is joining me now. where do the rules stand? the most wanted man in the senate because democrats are working very closely with him to try to convince him to become more open to the voting rights rules. he is also getting a lot of pressure from senate republicans as well. a million dollars, that is a lot of money in a very cheapizing state of premium. senator manchin's poling in november, he has 61% support in the state while he is pushing back against a lot of different things. so this add campaign is an attempt to keep that pressure on to remind constituents in west virginia of the negotiations happening in washington. so where the discussions stand? senator manchin has not walked away yet. he is still talking with democratic colleagues. he informs meetings last night. i'm told there are more conversations happening today, specifically what sort of rules can be changed. he is open to some minor tweaks to senate rules. and that is far from clear. but the conversations are happening and manchin is still involved at this point, cr
