with her long hair and face hidden by a jacket, tiffany lee left the jail around 1:45 this afternoon, private security helping her climb into the front seat of a waiting suv and then she was driven off after posting a record $35 million bail. >> in this county it's unprecedented, but in other places in the country, bales have been made like -- bales have been made like this. she is accused of murdering keith green in april of last year. the body was found weeks later and the cell discovered in golden gate park. they say lee was worried he could take custody of the two daughters and hired hitmen to carry out the crime. after the arrest in may of 2016 lee was held on $35 million bail, too high of an amount for traditional bail bond company, so a combination of millions in cash and real estate was used to security bail, between 50-20 of the family and friends of lee raised the bail amount to get her out of jail until trial. the family is shocked that despite the savartty of the charges lee walked out of -- the severity of the charges lee walked outside. >> it's a difficult time for the f

the stonewall jackson statue, the robert e lee statue. they were very much a part of what we now call the lost cause, which was the saltz narrative after the civil war. it was historic, writing a new history about the civil war and saying it had nothing really to do with slavery. it was only about states' rights pick even got the time of the support they were writing, this had a great deal to do with slavery. the robert e. lee statue goes up in 1924 and it is very much of a lost cause white supremacist statement on the landscape. so the charlottesville city council recently voted in a split decision 3-2 to remove the robert e. lee statue. they didn't talk about a stonewall jackson statue. they did talk about the 1909 confederate soldier statue. they specifically addressed robert e. lee which went up in 1924, a and the decision was to remove it. i don't think that they actually had the authority. the courts need to decide but it is still up in the air. does a city of virginia have the authority to remove a statue? there's been state legisl
