will the board of directors of the valley transportation authority just voted to move ahead with a housing development in san jose. ktvu's amber leety, the santa clara valley transportation authority board voted to move forward with putting up temporary housing for the homeless on its ceroni yard site near sanquhar road in north san jose. they also decided to consider putting some units at alternate locations. mayor matt mehan says ceroni yard is ideal for 200 units of emergency interim housing. we have surveyed over 100 sites this is the best one we've found. we have already built six of these communities. they're incredibly successful. the proposed units will be similar to the single unit prefabricated, temporary homes that are already at other sites in san jose. but there is opposition mainly from vta employees. they say there are three other alternate sites owned by the vta that are more suitable for housing the homeless. we strongly recommend the wisdom of the workers and being able to move forward with sites that are more public, facing and that have more access to public transit, which folks who live on the streets use ever
