tonight the valley transportation authority's board of directors just voted on the city's proposal to build a temporary housing community at a vta yard. ktvu is amber lee at tonight's meeting. and amber some movement here in the last few minutes. that's right. just minutes ago, they took a vote on doing two separate things. one is to move forward on putting temporary housing on the ceroni yard site and then the second thing they decided to do is to consider and analyze whether it's a good idea to put some of those temporary housing units at alternate sites. is this is santa clara valley transportation authority or vta. ceroni yard near sancha road in north san jose. the site that mayor matt mehan says is ideal for 200 units of emergency. interim housing for the homeless. we have surveyed over 100 sites. this is the best one we've found. we have already built six of these communities. they're incredibly successful. all the proposed units will be similar to these single unit prefabricated temporary homes that are already at other sites in san jose. but there is opposition mainly from vta employees. they say there are three other alternate sites are owned
