the mosswood park performing arts and recreation center. >> leigh martinez has been there all morning and joins us now with more on that. >> reporter: good morning. the rain is helping firefighters knock out some of these hotspots but this fire was fast-moving before the rains came and. it has devastated the community to lose this recreation center. you can see through to the other side. the roof has collapsed. firefighters are walking through and surveying the damage and knocking down spots that may be treacherous to anyone who comes through. investigators believe the fire started towards the back of the rec center. there are fire investigators on scene and they are trying to determine the cause. when firefighters arrived this morning, around 5:30 am, the mosswood recreation center was completely engulfed in flames. six trucks and four engines fought the fire from above and with multiple headlines. they prevented the fire from spreading to a historic victorian house built in the 1800s. that is now owned by the city of oakland. city workers came out to survey the damage. the center is
