let's get more from our political correspondent leila nathoo. currently in terms of payments if you are required to self—isolate. the first thing to see is that there has long been an acknowledgement or criticism that isolation was the weak point if you like the weak link in the test, trace, isolate system which is supposed to be to help stop the spread of coronavirus, and currently people on low incomes who are in receipt of certain benefits are in receipt of certain benefits are eligible for a £500 payment if they cannot work from home, if they do need that money. it doesn't mean everyone who applies for it necessarily gets it but there is a support system in place for those on lower incomes, the idea being if you are going to be put off isolating because of financial need then you can get some money to top up your income during that period on top of any sick pay if you are not receiving a salary during that isolation period. the idea to go further, to make a £500 payment universal, that is something that has been drawn up by officials, report
