kpix 5 reporter len ramirez tells us what's going on right now. len? >> reporter: caltrans finally gave the "all clear" and the chp reopened the fast lane of southbound 101 here in palo alto at embarcadero but as you can see from the bridge, the repairs have not been completed although it is stabilized enough to let the evening commute go through. now, earlier today, caltrans cleared away all the loose debris from the cracked section and then installed that plastic tarp just to be sure that if anything does become loose it doesn't fall on the cars below. a caltrans engineer has been inspecting the bridge but it took hours for that engineer to get here from sacramento adding to the delays. now, all this got started about 11 p.m. last night. that's when a dump truck from a nearby construction site drove down the freeway with the dumping bed still in the upright raised position. it slammed into the embarcadero overcrossing, breaking the concrete exposing rebar and leaving a massive crack across the bridge. caltrans says major repairs will be needed. we ar
