as far as rain goes, we are seeing some on the lens there but it doesn't look like golden gate bridge dealing with current rainfall. there's plenty of rain to the south. but this area really just started to pick up a lot of the rain off the coast moving towards saratoga. possibly towards san jose, mountain view, as well. so we are seeing some heavy rain. this is about a half inch per hour in los altos hills towards stanford as well so they could get a little more rain coming through palo alto. just got some light showers that may pick up a bit. union city, fremont, a little lighter there with areas of the yellows and oranges of course. that's heavier rainfall through pittsburg, antioch, so a lot of what was happening in concord, walnut creek, has moved towards this direction and then we are now seeing through el sobrante, el cerrito, richmond with stronger cells towards hercules. so hercules definitely dealing with more rain. as far as the showers from mill valley it's moved east. downtown san francisco looks to be getting a little bit of a break but there's ponding on the roads. you

[ sound of gunfire ] you can see several officers taking cover behind their vehicle with guns drawn. the officers moved in. we spoke with a member of the oakland police commission who was also on the scene last night. he said he had received a call from the police chief. >> i got a call from the chief of police that there was an officer involved shooting today. or tonight. and that the suspect who was armed apparently was dead at the scene and so i came out to see what it is that happened. there's been loss of life. >> police say
