live in studio lena howland, abc seven news. >> thanks, lena. now to a story from seven on your side and a warning about scams. two financial crimes in the south bay resulted in victims losing hundreds of thousands of dollars. the scam is known as a business email compromise. that's when a suspect hacks into a business email account and uses it to reroute payments into their personal account. in january, san jose police say their investigation found pennsylvania resident elena torres was the primary suspect for this scam. police recovered most of the money and returned it to the owner. an arrest warrant has been issued for torres as police look for other victims. >> this isn't just happening locally, but it's also happening nationally and a lot of perpetrators are involved. so suspect. torres is one of many who are behind this scam, and so a lot of them are also international. >> we've heard the tips before, but they bear repeating. that includes not giving up personal or financial information and to no scammer payment methods like gift cards, w
