sorayahave lennie -- lennie joins us. you saw some of the politicians turn out now today. what in general is the level of turnout and why have they extended the hours? , stephen. right the interior ministry announced they have extended the hours of voting. it usually happens when there is a larger turnout and people are obviously still waiting around to get into the mosques, get into the polling stations to cast their ballots. it is a regular occurrence and that those hours are extended. we do not know until when. usually it is until midnight. the interior ministry announced it will start counting the ballots just as soon as the polls close as well. as you mentioned, a lot of people have turned out in the last week, if you believe the polling. they predict that about 70% to 80% turnout but we will not know the official figures until the counting of the ballots is officially done. seen yetn we have not is the current president mahmoud ahmadinejad, he has not going to vote. we have not heard much from him in the last week before these elections, either. no sign of the disrup
