we'll start with les whitington. he witnessed the chaos. bring us up-to-date?rter: right now, it is a bit of slow down here. it has been chaotic all day and never been anything like this on the canadian parliament. hello? and sorry, are are you still there? >> it is fine. you are hearing the videotape. >> reporter: okay, the downtown of ottawa is basically locked down. and police are all over the police. the police are moving about in groups, apparently looking for what may be a second or are third shooter. it appears they don't know where this person might be. tens of thousands of government officials are told to stay in their offices and stay away from the windows and so the city is basically locked down. and no one really knows what is happening. rc&p will have a press conference soon. it does appear that the soldier who was shot this morning in the national war memorial has died. there are numerous reports of that. and i believe a number of mp's are in the parliament buildings waiting for the all clear and so the situation is unknown. it is not clear how th
