leslie brinkley reports. >>> it was like an archaeological dig.eople on hands and knees and digging around the remains. they are going to do the best they can to pull the remains out as one hole movement. >> the alameda county sheriff's office and hayward police swarmed into this remote canyon near interstate 680 and sunol at 10:30 saturday morning after volunteer searcher reported a body had been found. >> one of the search party members did discover remains. right now, that is all we know. there is nothing that indicates gender with the remains. the body is decomposed. >> it could be weeks before the body is identified with dna testing. alameda crime slab processing all the evidence. this was the eighth time the family of missing nursing student michelle le mounted an independent search for her. brad dennis was in charge of the team that found the remains. >> we had law enforcement on the search and secured the area and backed out of the area. >> hayward police had searched the same creek bed according to those that live nearby. >> the last mess
