leslie brinkley has been following the story all weekend and live tonight. >> reporter: a windy day, lots of folks coming out here to enjoy the water slide, open for another hour. no conclusive answers as they zeroed in on the slide called the emerald plunge looking at water flow and height and possibly weight requirements. a brisk wind chilled the memorial day crowd up on the slide platforms at this dazzling new dublin water park. 4 of the 6 slides here are now open. one that had a flow meter problem yesterday has been fixed and re-opened. the city of dublin issued a statement confirming cal osha inspectors today met with the manufacturer and contractors to figure out what happened on the emerald plunge on saturday when a 10-year-old boy hydroplaned across the slide. >> he had his hands and arms across the start. we need to figure out what that is. >> reporter: parents made their own assessments. >> i wouldn't let him go down that one. >> i'm not much worried. accidents do happen. i'm sure people are taking care of that. >> reporter: one pool contractor uninvolved in the investigati

. >> abc7 news reporter leslie brinkley is live at the scene with the latest. leslie? >> reporter: quite the scene. we have busy highway 4 behind us. we have a major intersection and a plane crashing in the middle of it, you see it back there right on the corner at 2:45 this afternoon. that's when this small single engine glass star plane went down. let's take a look at a view from sky 7 of the wreckage. the plane was taking off from buchanan field when the pilot reported a mechanical problem. the plane turned around to come back, but missed the runway just a few hundred feet away really from the air field. the plane crashed into a stop light at this intersection sheering off one of the wings. witnesses at an adjacent car dealership told abc7 news they saw no smoke from the plane as it came down. it did not catch fire. the pilot was the only one on board and was pulled out of the plane by a bystander and rushed to john muir medical center. [ inaudible ] condition. the plane just missed cars at the car dealership and injured no one else. somehow got on the ground here.

abc 7 news reporter, leslie brinkley live from water park in dublin with the latest on the story. leslie. >> reporter: well, investigators are scrutinizing many different factors. one of them is what they say is puddling around the exit trough, the other is what they are calling, the extreme angle, pretty extreme angle on the emerald plunge. cal osha says many in california have 30 degree drops, it's 80 degrees. it's all part of their investigation. the wave water park is closed on week days. but on saturday, the first day of its grand opening weekend, this happened. a boy, hydroplaned off the bottom of the steep three story speed slide, emerald plunge. he walked away with scrapes. the day before cal osha gave the green light and issued a permit after they sent the water park, corrected a long list of issues noted in an april inspection including loose bolts at the base. the permit came with one condition, they have to use county fire officials to inspect the slide daily until they properly train staff to do inspections and document the training with the state. as for the investiga

abc7 news reporter leslie brinkley spoke with cal osha officials and the manufacturer. t in the investigation. leslie. >> reporter: some new developments, alma. the park is closed today. it was open over the weekend, but investigators are drilling into the angle of this green slide, the emerald slide, the emerald plunge it's called. cal osha said many speed slides in california have 30 degree drops. this one is extreme with an 830 degree dr -- 80 degree drop. it is all part of the investigation. there was an accident saturday, a boy careened out of the bottom trough during the grand opening of this water park. just the day before, cal osha gave the green light and issued a permit for the ride. after they said the water park owned by the city of dublin, corrected a long list of issues noted in an april inspection, including loose bolts at the base. they are zeroing in on now on what they say appear to be pooling or puddling of water in the trough at the bottom. >> because that may have contributed to the accident, so that's one of the things that they will be looking eigh
