megyn: joining me now leslie marshal a syndicated talk show host and fox news contributor.ars larson also a syndicated talk show host. let me start with you, lars, did jay carney drop the ball on that. >> he sure did. this would be an easy one you would think for somebody like the president or spokesman to condemn, to say that obviously it's going too far, obviously it's putting human life at risk, both the people who live in oakland, the police officers who have to respond to this. but remember, his boss is that old community organizer. he probably likes a little rumbling in the streets. the thing is, these are people who have never hesitated to condemn the tea party for all of the free speech that's done peaceably, and productively and without arrests and violence. when it comes to this kind of thing in oakland they can't condemn it, they couldn't say butter if they had a mouth full and it's shameful that carney and his boss couldn't do something about it. they could publicly condemn it and leslie could do it too. megyn: the president got in trouble for weighing in on a l

leslie marshall, syndicated radio host and fox news contributor and jason lewis columnist for the starribune and author of "power divided is power checked". panel, this is interesting, because this is a message we've heard repeatedly from the occupy protestors to the white house, leslie, they have been talking about wealth inequality, income inequality, and yet the latest gallup poll shows only 2 percent of those surveyed thought this was an issue at all and now the president is going to devote the state of the union to that as a main theme. is he making a misstep? >> no. although it's a main treatment -- theme, it's not the only thing he's talking b he's going to talk about job creation through renew able energy, clean green jobs, he's also going to talk about job growth if we have tax reform. what he needs to present to the american people, the majority of those 52 percent that say jobs are their concern and the majority of voters are the middle class, are the working class. he as the president not only for the past four years but hoping for himself, and we democrats, for the next fo

leslie marshall is a syndicated radio host and a fox news contributor, and lars larson is also a syndicatedio host. all right, guys, it's interesting because all eyes are on the republicans, and it seems, you know, the democrats, president obama may be feeling a little ignored understandably, but that's, of course, because he already has the nomination for his party. lars, does he need to rally his support here in iowa given those numbers we're talking about here? >> i think he has to rally his support all across america, megyn, because americans have figured out that that hope/change didn't work out very well for most americans, and i think that's reflected in the poll numbers you just cited. the fact is americans heard the president's promises, and they understand that he didn't come through with them. he was not a uniter, he didn't keep unemployment below 8.5%, he didn't bring jobs to america, and he didn't restrain federal spending. this is a problem for the president, and it's going to be a problem all the way to november. megyn: leslie, you know, the president's got 20 paid employees
