first, let's look at the group s&p 500 restaurant stocks as an industry or subsector versus the s&p.know a winner relative to the market. sort of on the short-term basis. let me just show you really what's gone on. since the 2009 low, obviously this is a lot of consumer discretion relative to the market, but restaurants in particular really dominated equities in general. here is the setup. a chart with no lines, chart with lines. take it away. what i want to focus on is the gap. this gap of a month or so ago is an earnings beat. this gap is an earnings beat. we've sold off back to the point in which this thing repriced and the presumption is we're going to bounce here, and we're going to make a new high. closed at 180, and the presumption is 200. >> he likes it. do you? >> this has been a great growth story. i will say that when you take a look at the valuation trading about 30 times next 12 month earnings, it looks like it's barely fully priced. we've seen a lot of fully priced growth stories, and actually rallying even on disappointment because people are still hunting for growth.

far cry from the 80's we had this past weekend. the lets look outside. s kind of glummy, cloudy, gray, very cold, and damp were not a lot of sunshine break go through. temperatures have struggled to make it past the 40's in many locations today. on storm scan three you can see set up moving across northeastern united states upper level low off to the north and this rotation of cloud, showers and what we have is phenomenal i like, one of my favorite weather terms call self-destructive sunshine. you get any break of sun air in the up are atmosphere is just so cold when that warm particle of air rises up in the cold air aloft it creates cloud ape showers. it is an instability shower. that is what we are seeing through the afternoon. not a lot of this is reaching the ground. i saw what lad like steady showers moving through earlier. went outside. nothing much was happening. we have a few showers, sprinkles and snow flakes in the far north and western suburbs earlier today. it does not feel like late april. look the at these numbers. we are in the 40's in the

on that note on the first day of second quarter let's take a look at u. s. futures. is down for 2015. s&p 50 o0 and the nasdaq in positive territory. they continue to be the outperformer despite the tech sector. futures indicating a slightly lower open. the dow down about 11 points. nasdaq seeing a little bit of red down about 3 points. what's happening here in europe as we were telling you double digit gains for germany, france italy this year in term of today's price action. it has been better than expected manufacturing data. it's been lifting markets higher. seeing a gain of 84 points. we're back above 12,000. france and italy also in the green and of course better than expected data out of the u.k. pushing some investors into the ftse 100 up about 57 points. at this point an encouraging start to the second quarter. >> not so much for the dollar though. i know it had a really good quarter up by around 9% in terms of the dollar index. take a look at the dollar rates today. we're seeing the dollar some what lower although the euro dollar has fallen off it's highs.
