i was so excited to be a part of the levi stadium project.t was sort of a chance for me to share that legacy with the future of the 49ers and the future of the new stadium. i guess that i'm a multi medium artist, because i use every medium, video, paint, animation, sku sculpture, and the work is about landscape and exploring space. i get most of my inspiration from nature. i feel like nature is perfect art. it is growing, alive and full of shapes and forms, and that really inspires me everyday and makes he want to come in to attend to the things myself. one thing that i think that is interesting about this project is that we are filling a stadium with sort of the work that will he help to inspire people, and help to share ideas, and the stadium, itself is going to be seen as a museum or a space to do art and that is to me exciting. i feel like the stadiums themselves are interesting thing, and you go to see the sports, and you go to watch the amazing sort of epic battle occ occur. that is in itself pretty amazing and exciting, but the fact th

since the niners began playing at levi's stadium. the first was a domestic violence incident. this one happened just before the game started sometime around 1:20 in the afternoon in a restroom on the north side of the stadium. the motive is still unclear but it could be as simple as an argument over a bathroom stall. let's go to the cell phone video. this is video taken by an observer. there were plenty of witnesses, as you can see, to the attack. here's a chronology of the attack, the first assailant punches the first victim who falls to the ground. a second attacker is punching the second victim. he drags the man out, begins hitting him again. the first attacker joins in. the victim, who is seriously injured, is lying on the ground, motionless, looking sort of disoriented, perhaps unconscious. police say it took just minutes to find and arrest the two suspects. they are dario david rogilero and amadore rogilero. investigators say they are related. they may be brothers. police say there is a lot of security on game day and yesterday

two fans attacked at levi stadium and one person severely injured. good evening. it is a story we first brought you on abc7 news at 9:00. right now abc7 news reporter lilian kim is live at levi stadium with what we have learned about the assault. lilian? >> katie, it happened just before kickoff inside levi stadium in one of the bathrooms. santa clara police say they arrested two men for felony assaults. investigators say the attack happened in a bathroom in the 300mezzanine section. the two male victims were taken to the hospital and a source tells abc7 that the injuries to one of the victims are severe injuries to the head. santa clara police aren't releasing the names of anyone involved and won't say if they were 49er fans, chief fans or both. but they did say this is the second assault to have occurred at levi stadium since it opened. >> we had two incidents at the stadium. one being a domestic violence assault and now coupled with a different assault right now. they are slightly different as far as the charge, but assault they are. >> now, in an e-mail a spok

we did some digging comparing levi's stadium arrests in 2014 to shows during raiders games. here's what we found. through three games at the coliseum, two preseason contests and a regular season bout, oakland's police department and the alameda county sheriff's office report an average of 12.3 arrests per game, peaking at 21 on september the 14th against the texans. the niners by comparison have played five games at levi's stadium, three regular season and two preseason games, racking up an average of 25.2 arrests per game, according to santa clara's police department. for those keeping track at home that's double the rate of raider nation. turns out fans of the silver and black are decidedly more well mannered. civil, even. than the 49er faithful. at least that's what the arrest reports indicate at this point of the season. an image "reality check" for the niners might be in order. i'm sam brock, back to you. >> want to be really clear. law enforcement officials at both stadiums say the vast majority of those arrests are really for nonviolent incidents like being drunk in p

we are learning more about the investigation of an assault at levi stadium just before a 49ers game. janine de la vega is joining us now to tell us what the 49ers are saying about this attack. >> reporter: we have been told over and over that security is a top priority here at levi stadium. now the two suspects in the attack they have been arrested for felony assault. this incident took place just before kick off yesterday between the 49ers and the kansas city chiefs. police tell us two men were in the bathroom at the 300 level on north side of the stadium when they were attacked by two other men. the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. they were arrested minutes after the assault took place and booked into the county jail. police are investigating what prompted the attack and if the men knew each other or if they were fans of opposing teams. a 49ers spokesman tells us they were aware of the attack and supporting the police investigation. we reached out to authorities to get an update on the victim's condition and the investigation and as soon as we get that, we will brin

now to a different stadium, levi's stadium which is facing a new traffic challenge. >> it really is.here's the regular friday night commute, obviously, plus fans are heading to the santa clara facility for tonight's college game between cal and oregon. >> in the midst of it all is abc 7 news reporter david louie, live at levi's. how is it going so far? >> reporter: you can see right here it's not very busy on great america parkway but we have been seeing waves of people arriving. the oregon fans arriving as early as 12:00 noon and cal fans shortly thereafter. the staggered arrival times are helping but the real challenge comes after the game when everyone tries to leave levi's at the same time. traffic control teams were staffing detours at 10:00 this morning, surprising thousands of temp workers trying to take lunch breaks. they are now expecting the worst as they try to go home after work as cal and oregon fans converge on levi's stadium. >> i think it will be a nightmare. you absolutely had to get out of here early if you plan on leaving at all. >> reporter: how early do you plan
