[applause] ♪ ♪ >> good morning.pleasure to be back to help celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the mba. i've been a proud member of this organization for a very long time, and i'm happy to share my thoughts about where we've been and where we need to go in the future. and despite what some of you have been chuckling about, no, it's not true i've been a member for 100 years, and no, i didn't attend the first meeting in 1914. close but not quite. being serious, i've had the good fortune to be active in this industry for more than 40 years, and in that time it's been my privilege to know and work with some of the great leaders of this organization. past presidents such as claude pope. as was our former president deb still. they define hard work, leadership and the leadership that built this organization. i've obviously be remiss if i didn't mention my very good friend david stevens who has done a terrific job in very difficult circumstances. while so many industries and professions have been replaced or displaced o
