so we get to lexington and what does pitcairn find? pitcairn finds out the americans know he is coming. there's been no secrecy. there's been no speed. they are ready for him. he gets various reports about what he faces, and when he actually finds out that there's a very small body of troops on lexington green, probably not more than 70, and he's got 230, he decides to attack them, and he kills a significant number of them. colonel smith hears that this has happened. he's still making his way from arlington, and this is totally against orders, and he comes rushing up and it puts a stop to this massacre. of course, the americans tried, the lexington men tried to get away as best they could, but only, we still had 22% casualty rate, which is a very, very high and very, very heart rendering en you know theirndidual stories. pitcairn of course is delighted. this is exactly what sandwich and the king want. they want more killing. the only criticism of pitcairn that they would have is you didn't kill enough. so this killing ignited all of th
