leyland leyland yee is trying to change his plea in federal court. >> stef the disgraced ex-senator may avoid trial after all. >> reporter: that's right. this move likely means a deal has been struck. they were set to go to trial on august 10th. this morning around 10:15, we got video of the former state senator entering the course house, a plea deal may be beneficial for prosecutors. he was facing up to 165 years in prison and 2.25 million. if there was a trial, we would also hear the details of the accusations. there could be a very big reduction in punishment as well. he is facing money laundering and racketeering as well as political corruption charges, 13 counts all together. nbc bay area broke the store in march of last year when police arrested the former state senator, court documents outlining the system accusations, for political favors like votes for specific bills. in january, another grand jury indictment allege he and a political consultant tried to high money from a gun-running deal. the three other defendants are also set for a plea change. that's former san francisco bo

leyland what's your response to that? >> a return to higher rates? i don't know if that's going to happen any time soon. i mean, we've heard them talking about it for a while. but if there is an exit by the mutual fund group, the insurance group, the four investors, the folks -- the three investor groups that have purchased the majority of the corporate debt that have been issued over the last decade, if they all decide to exit at one time, we'll see a dramatic drop in prices. i'd rather go back and talk about electronic trading if i might, something that talking about the global issues and how they've seen the sides for the global issues go down. i saw a presentation by will rhodes of the rhodes group about a year and a half, two years ago, and it was specific to electronic trading and he likened it back to if anybody remembers how we saw the number of transactions and equities go up and the size of the transaction go down and he put graph up of what happens going on with global issues in the fixed income world and we saw the same thing happening. t
