we will talk about the needs of the lgbt community. when we get kicked out -- toledo gets to move back home. also, our issues are your issues. we are you. we represent every community. just today down a little bit. the other rights that other people get for free, it has been making these substantial investments in trying to secure a marriage of quality and repeal the defense of marriage act. to allow us to have the dignity of our nation's largest employer in the military. all of the safety net services, all of that money is gone. we are tattered at the edges and we are coming off at the wheels. we should not have the most vulnerable people in san francisco. it is a luxury for us. what people with hiv/aids need in this town is a job. we need a job. anybody know a disabled person that has a job here? raise your hand. where is it? there are money and services for people to get jobs to serve us, but where are our jobs? that is indicative of some kind of endemic discrimination against creating employment. transgendered people need the jobs.

the houston has done a great job of beginning lgbt training. there are many examples of cities that do things the right thing -- the right way when interacting. the intent to treat people the same. i would like to point to our community policing model which has too many inconsistencies to be effective at times. also, we look at police officer interactions with african- americans. that should be the same model where there is a police officer interaction with african- americans in the fillmore. they're different people, they're different police -- beliefs. we need to do that kind of research and be that kind of policy implementing body that does that kind of job. as for the taser, i believe very strongly that these are dangerous weapons. they are dangerous weapons that have an unintended consequences that scar and maim and hurt the individuals there used against. they also scar and maim and hurt the police officers that use them. we need to understand those consequences much more deeply. we need -- never mind that we don't have money in the budge

i was the president of the harvey mlik lgbt law club last year. i am the son of a firefighter. in the brother of the military police officer who was serving the country in japan. my respect for the rule of law and for public safety is personal and it goes deep. i have tremendous respect for the hard-working men and women of the san francisco police department who do underappreciated work every day. i grow very poor in section 8 housing in kentucky. and the youngest of five sons, the only ones to go to college, and the only day one. i've had many encounters with police in my life. some outstanding, some not so good. my interest spans 15 years. i got involved with an organization called the kentucky alliance against racism for local oppression. i was mentored by it a civil rights activist and a was also involved in an organization called citizens against police abuse. i was appointed by the mayor of little -- lewisville -- lou isville. a prepared our report and recommendations to the chief. during law school, i became active in the national lawyers guild as a legal observer. i co
