libby casey is live in washington.ibby has the administration commented yet on the reports that those drones are being used in iraq? >> not publicly, dell. they are siting unnamed sources at the pentagon who are saying these are manned drones flying over bagdad. the significance of that is they could not just be eyes and ears over the city of bagdad and the country of iraq, but could also act in a defensive way if troops on the ground are threatened. this is very different than air strikes, and the administration says they have not yet made any decisions on whether to launch air strikes inside iraq. but we are seeing aerial operations above the ground, manned planes, as well as unmanned planes, and now these predator drones. there are some photos and footage of the meetings that secretary kerry is engaging in. he has met with the king and that is of course an important step in this process right now. leader talking about both in the middle east as well as here in the united states of grave concerns over a destabilized

libby joins us from washington d.c., and where do we stand regarding a compromise on the bills? >> reporter: good morning, stephanie, there's certainly the opportunity to compromise, but starting from different places. republicans the veterans to have more choices when it comes to medical care, see private doctors from uds of the va system and have the va pay for t. and they want to give more authority to the va to fire those who aren't working up to par. democrats say sure, they should be able to seek care else western, but they're worried that republicans are trying to strip power away from the central va. as far as the fires go, democrats say that we want to hold people accountable but we don't want them to get fired because they're whistle blowers, or gay, and they want to make sure that protections are in place. we have seen a couple of bills emerge, and folks have gone behind closed doors, john mccain, and bernie sanders of new york, the caucus democrat and chairman of the va committee, they're trying to find ground for compromise, and they even brought in the chairman of

the delta force operators, like the ones who carried out this capture of a wanted terrorist abu al-libbi back in october practiced on a mock-up of khatallah's home before launching the operation which was over in a quick 32 minutes. he was picked up at his house south of benghazi. u.s. military interrogators don't know how long they will have to question khatallah before he is he is mirandized and given a lawyer. that decision is up to the president, the libyans have expressed anger that he they were not told about the raid in advance and are demanding khatallah's return, greta. >> jennifer, two questions here. you may be telling us the history of ansar al sharia. are they the ones behind this benghazi takedown? >> it's not clear at this point. in fact, pentagon officials are being extremely careful, saying almost nothing about khatallah, where he is being held and what he is saying, of course, because they don't want to jeopardize the chance for the justice department to bring a case against them. they don't want to give his defense lawyer any ammunition, greta. >> jennifer, thank you.
