oakland mayor libby schaaf wants new rules of regulations to protect people in warehouse spaces like the ghost ship warehouse. allie rasmus is in the fruitvale neighborhood where 36 people died in the ghost ship warehouse fire. >> reporter: in an executive order, schaaf referred to the ghost ship firement because of the fallouts from it, landlords are putting greater scrutiny on tenants and those who live in unpermitted warehouse spaces like this one are being forced out of their homes. she is attempting to stop some of those evictions. you will recall 36 people died in the warehouse on 31st and international in oakland known as the ghost ship. more than a dozen people were living in the industrial space. the fire happened when a crowd of people inside enjoying an unpermitted dance party, the fire occurred, and the people were trapped and parished in the fire. the executive order calls for officials to take up to 60 days to work with landlords to make warehouses safer to live in instead of evicting the people who live there. according to the san francisco chronicle schaaf endorsed a
