's right we expect to hear from libby schaaf and the fire chief about this morning's big construction fire in minutes at 9:30 am for we will bring it to you live. >>> several fires a partially completed housing developments in the east bay. that includes a big fire in oakland on san pablo avenue that burned a complex that would have had storms on the street level and apartments above. there were two fires 10 months apart in emeryville at a housing and retail development. not far from oakland. federal investigators ruled that the fires in may and july of last year were deliberately set and they were so big that they damage to other nearby homes and businesses. early on halloween two years ago there was another case of arson at a 3 story apartment complex that was under construction. that fire in oakland quickly spread through the unfinished 41 unit building. federal agents have not said if there is a definite link between all of these fires. fire in the city of concord destroyed an apartment complex under construction and it was ruled as arson. the person has not been caught. it was de

mayor libby schaaf announced the "keep oakland housed" program. will provide legal, financial, and supportive services to residents experiencing a housing crisis. mayor schaaf says "not one resident in oakland should live with the fear that they'll become homeless if they miss a rent check,". oakland residents who are in the midst of a housing crisis and have a household income below 50 percent of the area median income are eligible for the program. ( darya ) happening today...the board of supervisors could approve a new l-g-b-t-qfocused homeless shelter in san jose. funding has been approved for the site. planning started on the project after a homeless youth told supervisors they felt safer on the streets than in the already existing shelters. the location is owned by the city of san jose... so the shelter will be open to the homeless as soon as the city council approves the lease.
