oakland police believe the suspects were out to rob people attending a lil wayne concert around the corner from sweet jimmie's on broadway. people having a good time, suddenly finding themselves in the middle of a shooting. david ward, the owner of the newly opened bar on broadway spent less than two minutes at his club late monday. he released a statement says at no time were they patrons of sweet jimmies. they were attempting to rob someone outside. when they failed, they began shooting. several people ran inside sweet jimmie's get to away from gunfire. six people shot, two of them killed. >> this is one of the safest areas in the community. it doesn't affect the businesses directly as much as it affects it clients. people don't want to come to a place they think they are going to get shot. who can blame them. >> reporter: business is thriving in this tough economy. >> it's a shame. fight that is used to happen with fists is happening with guns. >> reporter: business owners say some clubs attract an element that brings violence with it. many businesses closed because of it. some say it's
