i'm dion lim. there is a lot to look forward to this week. on thursday, april 1st, california expands vaccine eligibility to anyone over the age of 50, no medical condition required. it is the first of two expansions. on april 15th everyone over age 16 can sign up for a shot, but are bay area counties ready for this influx of people to get vaccinated in the next two weeks? abc7 news reporter luz pena, part of our vaccine team, spoke to a ucsf expert who says counties need to change their strategy. >> reporter: the day is approaching. come april 1st the entire state will open vaccine eligibility to those 50 and older. >> it is going to be a rush. >> reporter: ucsf's infectious disease doctor saying counties need to equip their vaccine teams now and gear up for the upcoming two weeks. >> what's called nano particle that had to go around the mrna vaccine was making things slow and we knew in february they'd increase supply of that. so it actually makes sense that we'll have the slye. >> reporter: but counties like santa clara say they're concern
